I graduated with a Communications Digital Cinema Degree from Southern Oregon University in 2018. I originally dreamed of becoming a movie director. However, I realized that I enjoyed teaching others more than directing films. I became a Morning News Producer at KOBI-TV NBC5 in Medford, OR because I loved making the news interesting. I wanted to catch the attention of viewers and have them learn something about their local and regional communities. After producing news for about a year, I was tired of the reporting environment. It didn't allow time to grow or focus on one specific story. I had to write 20 second news stories about topics that  needed background information to completely understand the context and importance of the bill. I wanted to have a meaningful impact to learners. So I decided to move to Hillsboro and explore instructional design. Turns out, I love it! ID combines structure with creativity. I like finding ways to engage learners and watch their skills grow.
